Surrounding ourselves with nature is good for our soul and our
Body good.

In the forest with the scent of pine needles in your nose and
soft, springy forest floor beneath our feet. Looking into the distance, over
green meadows and wild flowers along the roadside, around which insects buzz and
hum.

But we still bring nature into our
our everyday lives. Especially in small gardens and paved outdoor areas,
such as commercial buildings, the potential for creating a
green oasis unrecognized.

Every green area – no matter how small it is
being…

  • a place of relaxation in everyday life. To find peace,
to switch off and breathe deeply.
  • a place for community, to have another space,
    to meet people
  • an upgrade of the building – both aesthetically and
for the quality of stay (private and business for customers and
    employees)
  • added value for nature by creating habitat,
Desealing of surfaces and creation of infiltration areas during heavy rain
and protection from heat through the cooling effect of plants

The studio

Atelier Harich is a highly individual design studio. The focus is on design consulting. Maike Kristina Harich will show you the potential of your outdoor and indoor spaces, how to integrate more nature, and what a new design that suits you might look like.
The goal is always to create an atmosphere that allows people who come to this place to breathe deeply and bring a smile to their faces. The benefits also play an important role—for people and for nature.
Our designs can be implemented either independently or with the assistance of professional tradespeople or garden and landscaping companies. We are happy to advise you on all design questions during the implementation process.

CV

Nature, space and humans – these three elements accompany Maike Kristina Harich throughout her life and are now combined in her designs.

She started with humans. As a trained communications consultant, she founded her own agency in 1998 and, together with her team, advised national and international clients on interpersonal communication.

In 2007, she decided to sell her agency and establish her own studio to gain more space for creativity and freedom. Throughout her life, she has maintained a close connection to nature, strolling through meadows and fields as a child, and even later, in her hectic job as agency head, she sought balance in tranquil walks along the dike and through the northern German countryside.

With the founding of her studio, nature intuitively returned to her life. She created nature illustrations, linocuts with botanical motifs, and abstract landscape paintings in acrylic and watercolor. Her handcrafted works were featured in magazines such as Homes & Gardens, Landlust, and Wohnen & Garten. And so she found and continues to find a loyal clientele in a wide variety of countries.

At the same time, Maike Kristina Harich, in response to demand, began to create three-dimensional designs with her atmospheric style and designed the first spaces. Always with a focus on nature, whether through natural materials in the interior or the integration of the garden into an overall aesthetic design.

In the following years, she completed, among other things, a certificate course in interior design and various international courses in garden and landscape design, as she is particularly inspired by English and Dutch garden designers.

Artwork & Shop

Minimalist, Nordic, tranquil—these best describe the style of Maike Kristina Harich's illustrations and paintings. Her motifs are always inspired by nature. These are the handcrafted objects she creates, for example, paintings, textiles, and—her particular preference—exclusive greeting cards. She combines art with craftsmanship to create unique pieces.

We also occasionally include special pieces from other artisans and small manufacturers in our online shop – sometimes from their collections and sometimes designed by Maike and produced in external workshops.

Everything is made from natural materials such as handmade paper, linen, clay, or wood. Sometimes for hanging on the wall, sometimes for use in your daily life, but always with the desire to create a sense of well-being and joy.

You can find the currently available objects in the online shop.

Journal

In addition to our online journal on the website, a special subscriber-only issue is published 3-4 times a year. Here, Maike offers insights into her work and studio, shares inspiration for places and ideas, and how we can recognize, nurture, and enjoy the beauty of the natural world around us.

The journal is available for free subscription and will be sent via email. If you're interested, please send us a message to let us know you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

We only work with people who share our values. Above all, decency, respect, tolerance, friendly and peaceful interaction in word and deed, and always a sense of humor.
